Niagara Falls

The word “Niagara” always sounded like coming from a fairytale for me. I remember reading about it when younger and imagined a huge waterfall, high and powerful, located in the middle of a preserved natural area, like in the novel “The Lost World” by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Standing there in the ice-cold canadian winter, the waterfall was indeed very impressive and sublime. It was awesome being there and feel the power of the water cascading down just a few meters away.

About the Falls:

Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls at the southern end of Niagara Gorge, spanning the border between the province of Ontario in Canada and the state of New York in the United States. Horseshoe Falls, is the largest of the three waterfalls, approximately 90% of the Niagara River flows over it. The Waterfall is about 51m high, more than 168, 000m3 of water goes over the crest of the falls every minute. 2/3 of North Americas fresh water passes through its American and Canadian Falls. It is the most powerful waterfall in North America, as measured by flow rate.
